DENISE: “The music for this song was written in the 80’s, as one of the first collaborations between Tom and Bill. I wrote the lyrics, which are about an obsession I have with junk mail - I enter all the sweepstakes, get a ton of catalogs, and can’t wait to see what’s new each day!” |

BILL: “I wrote this song during the years when I was playing folk/jazz music as a solo act at Folk City in Manhattan. It really started as a ‘blues jam’ to fill space between other songs...the lyrics came somewhat later, giving the song a life of its own.” DENISE: “I get a kick out of singing the refrain which goes, ‘Hit me with that duck, or you’re out of luck!’” |

BILL: “This is a song about headgames and ‘breaking up’. It’s a very strong song with a really rocking rhythm. I can’t really remember what inspired me to write it, but it must have been really traumatic at the time, I do remember that I wrote the whole thing in about a half-hour.” DENISE: “We needed a chorus for this song while in pre-production for our album ‘Try This.’ Both Bill and I wrote one -- we couldn’t decide which one to use, so we used both!’” |
